A Mental Snack (45)

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." ~ Leo F. Buscaglia

What is one act of caring you did today or one that you remember recently? What's something people often take for granted that another person gives?

My co-worker's father is in a hospice, on his way off this plane. I just said "let me know if there's anything I can or need to do." That's all I ever needed to hear when I was grieving the loss of two family members in less than six months.

I think just a smile is taken for granted. I try to smile at everyone and it hurts me when that smile's not returned. It doesn't take a lot of energy and it can really save someone's day.

Wonderful quote.

I try to show small kindnesses to students, hoping that will make some difference in some of their lives.

My husband has been stepping it up since I began working full-time. Without his help (without asking), I would be much more frazzled.

I was going to say smile then noticed it wa taken...but then I noticed Shadow's response: time. Yep, I think time given is often taken for granted but it means the most.

You left kind words on my blog today!! That was lovely. I think just a few words can make such a big difference to a person...and that boils down to what Shadow said - take the time!

Very sweet post. I have to agree with the Time comment.

I do my best everyday to find something I like about the people I deal with. It makes it easier to resist crushing them in the dumpster.
